Introducing a new regular feature on how to Hunt for Airbnb’s! When the twins were tiny and most of my time was spent feeding infants, I spent a lot of time in front of the TV. Since this was pre-streaming, you had to watch programmed television. I remember finding House Hunters International on HGTV and watching hours and hours that first year. You know the set up – people moving overseas, local realtor shows them 3 allegedly available properties none of which fits all their criteria. They then decide which one best meets their needs and it is theirs!
We all know now that it really doesn’t work that way. The picked property has been predetermined and apparently they go visit two other properties that were never actually in the running. Despite the slightly dishonest set up, it is still such a compelling show to me even to this day. I love getting inside properties, even virtually. Which one would I chose? Do I think they made the right choice? That’s why I decided to do something similar with how I choose the Airbnb we are going to stay in at each new destination.
How to Hunt for Airbnb’s
As I hunt for airbnbs it will be fun to see if you can predict what I have chosen and to find out what you would choose. I’ll also be detailing my priorities for each destination because they do change. My goal in this whole travel blog is to help YOU figure out how to successfully plan stress-free, budget-minded trips. By seeing my process as I plan for a specific trip, it should help you learn how to find Airbnbs that work for you. Lastly, it can act as a shortcut to find an Airbnb for you if you travel to the same destination.

One difference between this blog series and House Hunter’s International – I actually post only Airbnbs that I seriously considered and were available. I can’t wait to see if you yell at your computer screen with the crazy choices I make for my trips like I used to do to the strangers on the TV!
