Why Peru?

Dec 21, 2022 | Christine Tucker

When people hear that we went to Peru, I often get the question, “Why Peru?”. As with most of my trips, it started with a Going.com email in March with a sale to Peru for less than $250 per person. I feel very comfortable planning trips to Europe and the US, but haven’t done much…

How to Plan a Stress-free Trip on a Budget

Dec 20, 2022 | Christine Tucker

Planning an international trip that’s on a budget, fun, and stress-free takes some logistics. First, I recommend signing up for flight deal notifications from Going.com. I have planned many trips around deals they have emailed. Once I have decided on a destination, I always have these seven tabs open on my browser to quickly check…

Discovering American History in DC

Mar 17, 2023 | Christine Tucker

Since Faith is taking AP US History this year, we decided to see what American history we could discover in DC. We got to sleep in a bit since all museums don’t open until 10 AM. After eating some bars we brought from home, we braved the chill and walked to The American History Museum….

A European Trip Can Be a Vacation

Mar 16, 2023 | Christine Tucker

I like to distinguish between a trip and a vacation. Trips are about adventure and discovering new places. Vacations are about relaxing and becoming refreshed. When you travel to Europe you are inevitably dealing with jet lag and an overnight flight. You are navigating in a foreign language and currency.  These stressful differences don’t lend…

Best DC Neighborhoods To Visit

Mar 15, 2023 | Christine Tucker

Our second full day in Washington DC was a Sunday and we decided to explore some DC neighborhoods. All museums are open on Sundays and locals and tourists alike made for lengthly lines. We stopped by the National Museum of the American Indian on our walk to Capitol Hill where we were going to meet…

How to Spend a Half Day in DC

Mar 14, 2023 | Christine Tucker

My first day in DC with my teenage daughter, Faith, began around noon. If you are flying to DC, I highly recommend flying into Washington Reagan National Airport. You can get to DC using Baltimore or Dullus but they are much further out of the heart of the city. You can use public transport to…

Planning a Weekend Trip to DC

Mar 14, 2023 | Christine Tucker

Recently, my teenage daughter Faith and I planned a long weekend trip to Washington, DC. Planning for a weekend trip to DC when you’ve been many times still takes some preparation. It’s probably the 20th visit for me and the 4th for my daughter. Planning a trip to a familiar destination is certainly different than…

5 Reasons You Should Travel to Norway

Feb 15, 2023 | Christine Tucker

Here are 5 reasons Americans should travel to Norway: I’ve always been a bit apprehensive of traveling to any Scandinavian country. I was under the impression that Norway would be expensive and the people would be aloof. I could not have been more wrong! You can travel to Norway on a budget with prices in…

The ingenious traveler in Peru

Hi, I’m Christine!

I’ve been traveling my whole life. I can’t remember ever having a time in my life that I didn’t travel. For me, planning my next trip is as natural as doing my weekly meal plan. Life is busy – I juggle a career as a REALTOR®, being a mom of 3, and being active in the community.  However, I know that ANYONE can travel and that it doesn’t have to be overwhelming or expensive.
